Get hands-on with replica dinosaur bones and observe and identify the characteristics of well-known herbivore and carnivore dinosaur species.
Delving deep into the fossil remains of prehistoric life, learners will discover the processes of palaeontology. Gain a greater appreciation for how dinosaurs have evolved, and how marine and avian reptiles differ.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will:
· Understand what a fossil is, how they are formed and why palaeontologists study them
· Make connections between animals that live today and those that lived millions of years ago
· Observe and identify the differentiating features of a variety of dinosaurs
· Learn the whakapapa of various fossils found across Tāmaki Makaurau and Aotearoa to make connections to their own past
Please note: minimum 20 students, maximum 30 students per session
