This programme is for the following year groups: Years 7-13
Every community has its own stories to tell. How do museums, exhibitions and galleries help bring the past to life and narrate these local histories? Learn how curators collect and protect taonga, how exhibition designers create and display treasured objects and what you need to consider when you are developing and creating your own museum.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will:
· Understand the importance of provenance for museum objects
· Uncover the history of Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum
· Explore the Auckland Museum Collection Policy and apply it to objects in the collection
Please note: minimum 20 students, maximum 30 students per session
