This programme is for the following year groups: Years 5-8

Learners will explore the myths and realities of ancient Egypt’s fascinating pharaohs, magnificent pyramids and extraordinary art and cultural splendour. This programme will offer learners the opportunity to engage with the distant past through a variety of real and replica items that bring to life this preeminent civilisation that flourished for thousands of years along the River Nile. We will also learn about Auckland Museum’s mummy, Souser-iret-binet.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will:
· Understand the role of the Nile as the source of life in Egypt
· Explore various ancient Egyptian deities
· Learn about some of the pharaohs of ancient Egypt
· Gain an understanding of the process of mummification

Please note: minimum 20 students, maximum 30 students per session
